Pasifika Narratives Episode 6: Native Hawaiian Community

Pasifika Narratives “Our Voice is our Liberation” highlights Pasifika stories and issues in a monthly 30-minute video series released on our PICA-WA social media platforms. Episode 6 of our COVID-19 & Health series, highlights the resilience of Kanaka ‘Oiwi o Hawai’i living in Washington state and surviving the assault of COVID. Local Hawaiian leaders discuss health resilience and a word to encourage our Pasifika diaspora in the continental U.S.A. to stay encouraged and to stay healthy. Hear from our amazing leaders: Aaron Helenihi, Kumu Kamaile, Jessie Coen, Kalehua Ka’apana and Koa Cedrique Derouin.
Pasifika Narratives covers local policy and social issues unique to the Pacific Northwest, while highlighting global issues that impact the Pasifika Diaspora in Washington State and the greater United States. Pasifika Narratives also serves as a medium for cultural work highlights, promoting Pasifika Creatives in having an avenue to share their body of work.
